रतिर्यस्य तं तथोक्तं तं ईश्वरं विचिन्त्य विचार्य तवानुवृत्तिं अनु-
सरणं कर्तुं न उत्सहे च । नानुमन्तुं शक्नोमीत्यर्थः ॥ ६५ ॥
PROSE ORDER : — अथ वर्णी आह—महेश्वरः विदितः,
त्वं पुन एव तदर्थिनी वर्तसे, च तं अमङ्गलाभ्यासरतिं विचिन्त्य
तव अनुवृत्ति कर्तुं न उत्सहे ॥ ६५ ॥

वर्णिन् in verse 52 आह—उवाच said It being Present
tense, third person, sing, its use in the sense of the
Past tense is open to question. But according to
some commentators आह may be used with अथ on
the authority of 'तदादौ च' । भोजसूत्रम् । आह is the
alternative substitute for √ब्रू 'to speak' in all the
numbers of the third person and, sing and dual of
the second person 'ब्रुवः पञ्चानामादित आहो ब्रुवः' पा०
३ ४ ८४ Thus √ब्रू is conjugated in the present tense
as—ब्रवीति—आह, ब्रूत —आहतुः, ब्रुवन्ति—आहुः । ब्रवीषि
—आत्थ, ब्रूथः—आहथुः, ब्रूथ । ब्रवीमि, ब्रूव., ब्रूम । महेश्वरः—
( महा + ईश्वर ) महांश्चासौ ईश्वरः महेश्वर (महादेव ) Shiva
The word महत् is changed to महा when it forms the
first member of a Karmadháraya or a Bahuvríhı
compound, or when the termination जातीय follows
