1. I. संख्यियतः, the emendation follows all the other Mss.

   the other Mss. and supported by later references.
4. It should be noticed that ग्राम is used as neuter, although the
   word is generally masculine.
5. A. B. C. F. J. विन्यासं ।
6. (1) I. नवये for नार्पये । (2) A. F. विविधवृद्धः ।
   The next 24 lines (10-33) are left out by A. F. J.
7. (1) B. शुभायाति । (2) यः seems to be a corrupt reading for यतः
8. I. वानप्रस्थाधिकं, the emendation follows B.
9. (1) B. विंश for त्रिंश । (2) B. दण्डा for दण्डेन ।
10. I. शतामं for शतान्तं ।
11. दैर्घ्य would be more grammatical.
12. B. चतुरस्रायुतंचप्र तद्वत्वात्तं त्रिसप्तशत विस्तृतं ।
13. B. तद्दंडायाम ।
    The following 20 lines (29-48) are missing in all the Mss.
    except B. Their inclusion in the text is absolutely necessary, as they
    contain the measures of the villages called नन्दावर्त, पद्मक, स्वस्तिक and
    प्रस्तर ।
14. B. नंदावर्तं ग्राम ग्राम, I. J. and the other Mss. नन्द्यावर्त....दण्डादौ ।
15. B. षष्टरदिनं ।
16. The passage under the square brackets is left out in lacuna
    in the Codex Architypus and the other Mss. ; but can be restored from
    line 32 of Chapter X.
17. It is difficult to say whether this line was originally meant
    to be written in prose or verse.
