जाते, किन्तु जापान के एक ऊँचे दर्जे के अफ़सर के विशेष यत्न और चेष्टा से उस
आफ़त से छुटकारा पा सके । अब उन्होंने एक उच्च कुल की जापानी महिला
का पाणिग्रहण किया है। और उन्हें एक पुत्र और एक कन्या-रत्न प्राप्त हुआ है।
पुत्र का नाम है भारतचन्द्र। हमारी भावज सम्भवतः इतने दिन में बँगला सीख
चुकी हैं। रासबिहारी अब जापान सरकार की प्रजा हैं।
जापान से रासबिहारी ने अब जो लेख यंग इंडिया और अन्य पत्रिकाओं
आदि में भेजे हैं उन्हें शायद बहुत लोग जानते हैं। उनसे उनका वर्तमान मत बहुत
कुछ जाना जा सकता है। इसके सिवाय अपने कई बंधुओं को भी उन्होंने अब
पत्र लिखे हैं, यहाँ उनका कुछ अंश उद्धृत कर दूंगा, उसी से उनके वर्तमान मतामत
का कुछ पता लग सकेगा।

My dearest......
......The idea that I could not protect...all from the inhuman
...they were subjected to makes me restless. O course I
consoled myself with the fact that by passing through the
agony of fire......have come out a better and purer soul.
But I did not like the tone of pessimism that pervaded some
parts of...letter. There is enternal life, so work is eternal.
You need not be anxious about impurity even if there is any
......Of course there is no necessity of secret work, and I
quite agree with you. Hitherto our knowledge of inter-
national situation was very meagre. We mostly confined our
attention to India. But now I have come to understand a bit
of international politics. This has greatly altered my former
ideas. Please remember that we shall have to—rather we
are destined to—takle the problem of the world. It is India's
mission to usher in a new era of real peace and happiness in
the world. India's freedom is but a means to this end, it is
not an end in itself......
