(It means 'a fœtus that was hard to carry' करुणा से whence
(how) can you have pity? As राम had been cruel enough to
abandon his own pregnant and innocent wife, his hand would
feel no pang in killing a stranger like the शूद्रतापस कथंचिच्चल

done an act befitting
अपि शिशु would that the ब्राह्मण boy be restored to life राम,
though assured by the superhuman voice in the 8th verse, feels
a momentary flutter He killed the शूद्रतापस, but he doubts
whether the boy would come to life again दिव्यपुरुष --the
शूद्रतापस on being killed assumed the from of a divine being

position of a दिव्यपुरुष) The gods say to राम 'यस्मिन्मुहूर्ते काकुत्स्थ

It is difficult to distinguish between आनन्द and मोद But we may
प्रमुद आसते' (the accents are omitted by us). The उपनिषदs speak of

of the notes. The reading पुण्याभिसम्भवा (पुण्येभ्य अभिसम्भव येषां) is
an adj of आनन्दा and मोदा and means 'that spring from religious
merit' It is not a bad reading वैराजा शिवा may those blessed
(auspicious) regions of light called वैराज be thine ध्रुवा for
शिवा is a good reading and the last half will than mean 'may
those regions of light called वैराज be thine for ever' or 'may
those eternal regions of light &c' वैराज (from विराज्)—विराज
