Though the Western Afghan confederacy
was crushed by the victory of Khānua, the
Eastern confederacy continued to gather
strength. The Rajputs though defeated in
a great battle, had not been vanquished.
Bābur had thus two powerful foes still to
overcome before he could consider his throne
firmly established. His experience taught
him that he had more to fear from the
