⁶ According to the Gujarâti chroniclers, Mûla Râja reigned from 998-1053 A.V.,
i. e. 55 years. Soon after his succession to the throne he was assailed by two
armies—that of the Sapâdalakshîya, Râja of Sakâmbharî (Sâmbhar), and that of
Bârapa, the general of Tailapa of Kaliyân : see Ind. Ant. vol. VI. p: 184.
Sapâdalakshîya might be a biruda of Vigraha Râja. [Bhagavânlâl Indraji
points out that Sapâdalaksa or Savâlakha is the name of the Sivâlik hills, and
that the early râjas of Kamaun called themselves Sapâdalakshanṛipatis; and
that the Sakâmbharî râjas may have originally come from that country.]
⁷ Is this Karnadeva the same with the Karnadeva of Gujarât, the fifth in
descent from Mûla Râja I. ? His date, as given by Dr. Bühler, is 1068-1093 A.D.
Duśala is sixth in descent from Vigraha, the enemy of Mûla Râja: see Ind.
Ant. vol. VI. p. 186.
