Śivadêva I., (in A.D. 653 by Dhruvadêva),¹ in A.D. 705 and 732-33 by Mânadêva,
and in A.D. 754 by Vasantasêna or Vasantadêva.
And, on the other side, we have a family, the name of which is not given in the in-
scriptions hitherto brought to notice, but which in the Vaṁśâvali is called the Ṭhâkurî
family; issuing its charters from the house or palace called Kailâsakûṭabhavana;
and using the Harsha era. To this family belong inscriptions C: D. E. F. G. H. I. J.
L. N. O. Q. and R.; and it was represented in A.D. (635),² 639, 644, and 649 or 650, by
Aṁśuvarman, in A.D. 653 by Jishṇugupta, in A.D. 725 and 748 (?) by Śivadêva II.,
and in A.D. 750 (?) and 758 by Jayadêva II.
From the fact that each of the two families issued its charters from a palace, not a
town, and the fact that all the inscriptions are either at Khâṭmâṇḍu itself, or close in the
neighbourhood, the two palaces of Mânagṛiha and Kailâsakûṭabhavana appear to
