In the 3rd house, acquisition of a new position, advent of
moneys, happiness, freedom from sickness and destruc-
tion of enemies will be the result. In the 4th house, the
Sun causes diseases, and there will often arise impedi-
ments to the native in the matter of his sexual enjoy-
ments.
This Sloka is in स्रग्धरा metre which is defined as म्रभ्नैर्यानां त्रयेण
त्रिमुनियतियुता स्रग्धरा कीर्त्तितेयम्.
पीडाः स्युः पञ्चमस्थे सवितरि बहुशो रोगारिजनिताः
षष्ठेऽर्को हन्ति रोगान् क्षपयति च रिपून् शोकांश्च नुदति ।
अध्वानं सप्तमस्थो जठरगदमयं दैन्यं च कुरुते
रुक्त्रासौ चाष्टमस्थे भवति सुवदना न क्वापि वनिता ॥६॥
Sloka 6.—When the Sun transits the 5th house, there
will be multifarious troubles arising from illness and ene-
mies; in the 6th, he puts an end to illness, enemies and
grief; in the 7th, there will be wearisome travelling,
diseases of the stomach and humiliation; in the 8th, he
will suffer from fear and diseases; and even his own wife
will speak harshly to him.
This verse is called सुवदना. This consists of 20 letters; the
definition is
ज्ञेया सप्ताश्वषड्भिर्मरभनययुता ग्लौ गः सुवदना ।
रवावापद्दैन्यं रुगिति नवमे वित्तचेष्टाविरोधो
जयं प्राप्नोत्युग्रं दशमगृहगे कर्मसिद्धि क्रमेण ।
जयस्थानं मानं विभवमपि चैकादशे रोगनाशं
सुवृत्तानां चेष्टा भवति सफला द्वादशे नेतरेषाम् ॥७॥
