Sloka 62—According to some authorities, the cries
of omens heard after one has gone a Kros (about 2
miles) have no effect at all. But if the first omen is
harmful, the king should do eleven Pranayamas; if the
second too proves evil, he should do 16 Pranayamas,
and if the third too persists in being malefic, he should
return home.
प्राणायाम is thus defined.

Thus ends the 95th Adhyaya on the "Cries of Crows".

Sloka 1.—One conversant with the cries of birds
and beasts ought to declare the effects of omens only
after understanding the relative strength of the particular
quarter, place, movements, sound, the particular week-
day, asterism, Muhurta, Hora, Karana, the Ascendant,
its divisions and its being a moveable, fixed or dual sign.
