Interestingly the battery, in the procedure as explained, in
the previous text is prepared and the same was tested and proved
practical. When a cell was prepared according to Agastya
Samhita and measured, it gives open circuit voltage as 1.138
volts, and short circuit current as 23 mA.
ऐसा ही एक तथ्य प्रकाशित किया गया है कि अगस्त्य-संहिता में विमान
बनाने की विधि वर्णित है—
Ancient Sanskrit literature is full of descriptions of flying
machines - Vimanas. From the many documents found it is evi-
dent that the scientist-sages Agastya and Bharadwaja had de-
veloped the lore of aircraft construction. The “Agastya Samhita”
gives us Agastya’s descriptions of two types of aeroplanes. The
first is a “chchatra” (umbrella or balloon) to be filled with hydro-
gen. The process of extracting hydrogen from water is described
in elaborate detail and the use of electricity in achieving this is
clearly stated. This was stated to be a primitive type of plane,
useful only for escaping from a fort when the enemy had set fire
to the jungle all around. Hence the name “Agniyana”. The sec-
ond type of aircraft mentioned is somewhat on the lines of the
parachute. It could be opened and shut by operating chords

एस. जैन ने लिखा है कि अगस्त्य-संहिता में रत्न-विज्ञान के तथ्य मिलते हैं। उन्ही
के शब्दों में—
According to M.N. Dutt the book comprises three
Samhitas viz. the Agastya Samhita, the Brhaspati Samhita
(Nitisara) and the Dhanvantari Samhita. Each one of those
Samhitas would give it a permanent value, and accord to it an
undyeing fame among the works of practical ethics or applied
medicine. The Agastya Samhita deals with the formation, crys-
tallisation and distgisestive. Traits of the different precious gems
and enumerates the names of the countries from which our fore-
fathers used to collect these gems. The cutting, polishing, setting
