(4) the ᴍꜱ (dated v. s. 1930), which Dr. BÜHLER got copied
and sent to Navalrām (designated as घ);
(5) a recent ᴍꜱ containing the first 150 verses of the
Kānhaḍade Prabandha, copied out by some cāraṇa (bard) for his
personal use (designated as च).
Of these ᴍꜱꜱ क and घ are identical, क being printed verbatim
from the घ ᴍꜱ. ख and घ both come from Tharād and both have a big
common lacuna¹. It can, therefore, be presumed that both are identical,
ख representing the original ᴍꜱ from which the copy घ was prepared
at the instance of Dr. BUHLER. Of the remaining ᴍꜱꜱ ग represents
another manuscript-tradition, while च is fragmentary and is very
modern.
From these ᴍꜱꜱ DERĀSARĪ prepared his text. But according
to the practice then prevalent among Gujarati scholars, when Old Guja-
