About this granth
The Siddhantaleshasangraha (सिद्धान्तलेशसंग्रह) is a work on Advaita Vedanta by the sixteenth-century polymath Appayya Dikshita. After Shankara, Advaita teachers differed on many questions: where ignorance resides and what it veils, the nature of the individual soul and of God, whether souls are one or many, and how knowledge of Brahman arises. Appayya gathers these views concisely without taking sides, and the work remains a key guide to the schools of post-Shankara Vedanta.
It has four chapters following the order of the four books of the Brahma Sutras. This edition gives the text with a Hindi translation and notes by Vedantacharya Pandit Mulshankar Vyas, edited by Pandit Chandiprasad Shukla Shastri, principal of the J. G. Goenka Sanskrit College, and Pandit Shrikrishna Pant Shastri, head of the Achyut Granthamala.
It is the sixth volume of section B of the Achyut Granthamala, first published at Kashi by Gaurishankar Goenka in Samvat 1993 (1936) and printed by N. R. Soman at the Lakshminarayan Press, Benares. It runs to 590 pages.

श्रीरङ्गराजमखिनः श्रितचन्द्रमौले-
रस्त्यप्पदीक्षित इति प्रथितस्तनूजः ॥१॥
तन्त्राण्यधीत्य सकलानि सदाऽव्यदात-
व्याख्यानकौशलकलाविशदीकृतानि ।
आम्नायमूलमनुरुध्य च सम्प्रदायम्
सिद्धान्तभेदलवसङ्ग्रहमित्यकार्षीत् ॥२॥
सिद्धान्तरीतिषु मया भ्रमदूषितेन
स्यादन्यथाऽपि लिखितं यदि किञ्चिदस्य
संशोधने सहृदयाः सदया भवन्तु
सत्सम्प्रदायपरिशीलननिर्विशङ्काः ॥३॥
॥ इति पदवाक्यप्रमाणपारावारपारीणसर्वतन्त्रस्वतन्त्रश्रीमदप्पदीक्षितविरचिते
शास्त्रसिद्धान्तलेशसङ्ग्रहे चतुर्थः परिच्छेदः ॥
राजाध्वरीके पुत्र प्रसिद्ध विद्वान् अप्पदीक्षितने व्याख्यानकी कुशलकलाओंसे विस्तारित अनेक शास्त्रोंका अध्ययन कर और सदा वेदानुसारी सम्प्रदायका अनुसरण करके अद्वैतवेदान्तसिद्धान्तके पृथक्-पृथक् स्वरूपोंका संक्षेपसे संग्रह किया है ॥ १–२ ॥
यदि भ्रमवश सिद्धान्तोंकी रीतियोंमें मेरे द्वारा कुछ हेर-फेर हो गया हो, तो परिशुद्धसम्प्रदायके परिशीलनसे सन्देहरहित सहृदय पुरुष उसको शोधने की दया करें ॥ ३ ॥
श्रीसिद्धान्तलेशके वेदान्ताचार्यश्रीपं०मूलशङ्करव्यास-विरचित भाषानुवादमें चतुर्थ परिच्छेदका भाषानुवाद समाप्त॥
